PAT Testing Patmore HeathProfessional Portable Appliance Testing for SG11 businesses
PAT stands for 'Portable Appliance Testing' and describes the examination of electrical appliances to ensure they are safe for people to use. The majority of electrical defects can be found with a visual examination of devices, but some types of defect require specialist testing. PAT testing involves the combination of both methods to ensure all electrical items in your Patmore Heath business remain safe.
We can advise on an electrical maintenance regime, with a checklist for competent members of staff to fill out on a regular basis. This will ensure any obvious issues are caught early.
Our Patmore Heath engineers carry specialised PAT Testing equipment to perform the more thorough checks. We advise at least an annual check - more often for larger, more technology reliant businesses.
How often do I need to test my Patmore Heath electrical appliances?
The frequency of inspection and testing depends upon the type of equipment and the environment it is used in. For example, a power tool used on a construction site should be examined more frequently than a lamp in a hotel bedroom.
Patmore Heath business managers should ensure proper maintenance of portable electrical equipment to prevent danger. This means equipment that is connected to the fixed mains supply or a locally generated supply.
A recommended maintenance plan is based on a straightforward, inexpensive system of user checks, formal visual inspection, and testing.
Let us keep all your equipment in a safe condition, making sure you comply with the Electricity at Work legislation (1989).
